Frames purchased at Eyetek Optometrists carry a warranty against manufacturing defects for ONE YEAR after the original date of purchase. The defective eyewear must be returned to Eyetek for the manufacturer’s warranty to be valid.

We will always assist whenever possible with facilitating product replacement when covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Warranties are at the discretion of the manufacturer and may require evaluation before replacement can be offered. 

The manufacturer’s warranty covers frame defects, however it does not cover mishandling or damage due to improper care or cleaning. Eyewear that is damaged by use, bent, destroyed, lost or stolen is NOT covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Examples of covered manufacturing defects include, but are not limited to:

·       Frames breaking at the solder point

·       Failure of a spring hinge

·       Discolouration or paint chipping

·       Weakness of built-in accessory, ornamental detail or gem

Examples of non-covered damages that are not a result of the manufacturing process but rather improper handling include, but are not limited to:

·       Scratches or dullness due to improper handling or cleaning.

·       Exposing the frame to extreme heat (e.g. left inside a vehicle)

·       Dog chewing, scraping or frame being stepped on

·       Scratches on optical or sunglass lenses

·       Frame or temples being bent resulting in physical damage to material or hinges.

If non-covered damage occurs within one year of the original purchase, we offer a 50% discount on replacement parts.

If the frame is “in warranty” but we are unable to obtain an identical replacement product from the manufacturer for whatever reason, we reserve the right to substitute a product of similar quality and value (for example, a different frame colour or model).

Please note:

  • Repairs or alterations to a frame by an unauthorised third party may void the manufacturer’s warranty.

  • This warranty does not cover damage caused by any other optometrist servicing the frame or replacing lenses.

  • We do not offer a warranty replacement on sale or discounted frames.
